The shower was good, and it’s only a 15 minute walk into town. Simple, good value accommodation with a nice host and all the basics you need.

The property’s past as a maternity hospital is interesting, and the price is very reasonable. There’s a nice shared kitchen and an upstairs outdoor patio, plus free parking and a good location within easy walking distance of restaurants. My room felt cramped, though, with old, uncomfortable furniture. The bathroom was small and had very few supplies.

The old place has lots of character, and the bathrooms and kitchen have been updated. Everything was clean, warm, and well furnished, with good facilities. The host communicated well, made check-in easy, and let me arrive early. It was fairly priced too. I’d stay again while travelling through and recommend it to others.

Breakfast was called continental, but it was just cereal and toast, with only white bread and full-fat milk, and no fruit juice. The whole house was freezing in winter, and the bedroom panel heater barely warmed it up.
