The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the pub nearby serves tasty food. I was glad to find breakfast included, too. The rooms had everything I needed, and the shower had great heat and pressure.

The hot tub was a nice way to unwind after a full day of sightseeing. Our room was excellent and well serviced, and the team were friendly. There are beautiful ocean views, and the seal colony is close by.

The biggest letdown was the breakfast: bread, jam, honey, underripe bananas, and coffee I didn't enjoy. I'd rather have the option to pay for a proper breakfast, even something simple like eggs, porridge, or fresh pastries, than be offered something so basic. The lodge is lovely, peaceful, beautifully kept, and surrounded by nature, with the coast only minutes away. Karen was kind, attentive, and friendly, and we felt welcome as soon as we arrived. The room and bathroom were cold. Our bathroom heater didn't work, so showering was unpleasant on a morning when it was only +8°C outside. I caught a cold and had been unwell for two days afterward. Extra blankets or heating options in the rooms would help, as would working heaters in every room and bathroom. Payment was another inconvenience. They only take physical Visa and Mastercard cards, with no Apple Pay or Google Pay. Adding digital options, including PayWave, would make check-in and checkout easier. I still think Omau Settlers Lodge has a lot of potential. With better maintenance, some service improvements, and a rethink of breakfast, it could become one of the West Coast's standout stays. For now, I'd give it a solid four stars, with goodwill and hope for Karen and the team.

The staff were helpful, and everything was very clean. My room on the first floor felt a bit small, and the stairs up there were quite steep.

The owner greeted us warmly, and we had a great couple of days. I hadn't stayed here in a long time, but I'd happily come back. Our room was clean and a good size, and the motel had a spa and a good continental breakfast. There are attractions nearby, plus it's an easy walk to the local hotel for a drink and meal. Caters Beach is a short drive away for fish and chips, while Westport takes a little longer to reach and has more restaurants and bars. If you're in the area, give them a try. I'll recommend the place to family and friends 😀
