AAA Northlands Motel

We needed somewhere for a few weeks while waiting for our rental, and the new owners went out of their way to fit us in at short notice. They're friendly and helpful, and working hard to upgrade the place and make guests' stays better. The rooms are a bit run down, but it's a great budget option. The guest laundry washer is free, though the dryer takes $4 in coins.

The owners were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean, fresh, and had what I needed. I was there for 8 nights, and for the price it exceeded my expectations. The location suited my trip, and I was comfortable bringing my dogs inside. I could have used a few more cooking utensils. The stay became very difficult because of the young couple in the next room, who seemed to be long-term tenants from conversations I heard. The first few nights were fine, then they became increasingly disruptive. I got at most 2 hours of sleep on 6 of the 8 nights. There were volatile arguments, parties, people coming and going until 3am, and loud vacuuming or TV in the middle of the night. Their dogs meant I couldn't use the backyard. One evening they left at 8:30pm and didn't come back until 1am, with their back door open and dogs loose. The only time I could use the yard was at 5:30am. As soon as they heard me outside, their door opened and I had to take my dogs back in. We also thought they might have tried to get into our room through the internal doors one day, because a door had been pushed in. Luckily, I had a dog crate blocking it. I wouldn't stay in that same room again.

I spent a few weeks at this motel and everything was perfect. The staff were very friendly, took good care of customers, and provided everything I needed. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Jane was a helpful host, and the rooms were very clean with excellent shower pressure. The Northlands Shopping Mall is conveniently nearby.
