Diplomat Motel

The housekeeping staff were lovely, friendly and helpful, but management wasn't as welcoming. We stayed nearly two weeks, and the only real plus for us was being able to bring our dog or cats. There were plenty of heaters, but I'd never return otherwise. Room 13 was damp, and you could smell and see the dampness. There was mold on the window and shower curtain, the couch smelled of human pee, and the outdoor furniture had moss on it. The rear entrance light was blown, and fittings on the windows and lights were loose. The bathroom taps needed new washers and were difficult to turn off properly. The shower didn't have a label showing which way was hot or cold. The soundproofing between units wasn't as claimed, and the limited Netflix connection kept cutting out. The pool and spa were no longer active. Surfaces need wiping with spray cleaner and the cushions need regular washing. The place needs regular maintenance.

We spent four nights at the Diplomat and were happy with it. It's an older motel, but the rooms were spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable, and it was well equipped. Everything worked properly. Happy to recommend it.

We stayed one night and were impressed. The location is brilliant, the room was very clean and recently renovated, and the big bed was comfortable. We had everything we needed, and the value was amazing. Thank you!

The owner and staff were pleasant and accommodating, and check-in and communication were easy. Diplomat Hotel is a practical, clean option in a very handy spot, with shops, the local mall, a supermarket and Maccas close by. It's easy to run errands or find something to eat. The rooms are traditional and a little dated, but tidy and well kept. Each unit has a working heater, basic cookware and the bath essentials for a short stay. The compound-style layout gives some privacy and space from the main road, and there's a parking spot right outside each unit. Rates are reasonable for the area. Not fancy, but convenient and good value.
