There was no one at reception, and we couldn’t find any milk for tea or coffee. The shower was so bad I could hardly rinse shampoo out of my hair, and the hot water cylinder was rusty. Our phones also took ages to charge, as though there was a problem with the power. The place felt very dated, though the bed was comfortable and the room was clean.

The bed was comfortable and the location worked well for our plans, but I won’t stay here again. The shower dripped constantly, there was no tea towel for drying dishes, and the kitchen window had no curtain. Reception always seemed to be closed, and the lawns and gardens were neglected. The listing said Sky TV, but there was only Freeview, and there was no milk in the fridge. It felt like an unloved property that badly needs some TLC.

We were in and out in ten minutes. The unit smelled damp, the carpet was stained, and the wall heater was broken with marks on the wall. Midges were everywhere, and outside there was rubbish all over, with the lawns and garden badly untidy. The owner was never at the desk, and when we called for him to come check, he never showed up. He agreed to a refund, then accused us of stealing the towel and using the facilities, and never paid it back. I’m attaching photos too. This place doesn’t even deserve a star. Save yourself the time, or take a tent if you’re really desperate. It’s a graveyard.

I don’t like leaving negative feedback for small businesses, but I feel I should share what it was like. The location suited me, and the bed was comfortable with fresh feeling linen. The rest of the unit needs a deep clean. There was a strong toilet smell mixed with stale cigarette smoke, and dirt had built up along the skirting boards, especially behind the beds and furniture. The toilet seat was peeling and stained, the shower pressure was very low, and some bulbs had gone out. You couldn’t pay me to stay here again.
