That super hot shower and big bath were lovely after busy days out. I stayed 5 nights in a ground-floor room and loved the homely feel, especially the bedside lamps. The bed was amazingly comfortable, and there were different pillow sizes so I could choose the right one. The kitchenette had everything I needed, even detergent and a wash cloth, so I didn't have to shop for those. It's close to shops and restaurants, and not far from the city centre. My room was toward the back of the property, which may have helped, but it was very quiet despite being near the road. The only mild downside for me was the tight on-site parking. I was driving a hire car and hadn't quite got used to its size.

I travel for work and tend to choose quieter motels, but had to stay here this time. It was OK, a decent budget motel with nothing flash, just a clean, tidy place at a reasonable price. There are 15+ places to eat within walking distance. SOYO gelato is dangerously close!

The staff were lovely, and even fixed the wheels on my suitcase after I left it at reception between checkout and heading to the airport. Thank you so much! Be sure to give the little pup a cuddle when they come to greet you. We stayed while taking my daughter to university. The rooms were clean, spacious and great, and the bathroom was big and tidy with a nice large bath. The location worked well for us, with the mall and shops nearby for things to buy for my daughter's Hall room. The road is busy, but our room was quiet.

We really liked the Metropolitan, so after our first night there on the way south, we came back for two more nights while driving north. We're two adults and our teenage son on a South Island road trip, and it made a great Christchurch base. Riccarton mall, a cinema and lots of places to eat are just a 5-minute walk away. The service was very friendly. Totally recommend it.

Marco was really friendly and helpful, and the location is hard to beat, close to the bus stop, University, Mall and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and had a great little lotchem. There was some condensation in the bathroom.
