The Winter Escape deal was incredible value for our girlfriends’ overnight stay, with dinner and breakfast included. The room was refreshed while we were at dinner, an unexpected touch that we really appreciated, and the complimentary minibar was generous. We loved the building’s charm and decor, as well as the staff’s genuine hospitality. It’s a warm, interesting place, and the restaurant’s food and drinks were delicious and well prepared. We all had a great stay, highly recommend it, and will be back.

The staff went above and beyond, even arranging breakfast to be packed and delivered to our room because we had to leave too early for the restaurant. My husband and I were there for our honeymoon, and all the little touches made it special: luxurious towels, a complimentary minibar stocked with plenty, a pillow menu, and lovely decor. It was an unforgettable experience. Thank you so much!

The only downside was the main road noise, though the location was close enough to town for us to walk. The house itself is authentic in style and very well cared for, and we loved our room and all the little touches. The food was amazing and the staff were exceptional. I can’t fault the place otherwise. If only the original 1800s owners had known not to build beside a major road! Just lovely, and we’ll be back.

We tried the scones and the three tier service, and everything was good for the price, especially compared with some other big cities in Europe. The atmosphere was excellent, with beautiful cutlery and enough space between tables to feel intimate. We were the only ones there at 4pm on Friday, which made it even nicer. This review is for the high tea, not the hotel. We recommend it.

The bee pollen butter was amazing, I would’ve taken a kilo home if I could. The food was exceptional, and the chef sent me a sample of the ice cream after I’d asked about one of its ingredients and ordered something else. That was a lovely touch, and the sample was delicious too. We’ll be back when the new menu’s out.
