The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the place feels safe, with a separate entry code for each room. It’s close enough to the city centre for an easy walk, but far enough out to stay quiet late at night. There’s lots of space in the rooms, rather than squeezing in another bunk. The lounges are fun, with guitars, games, and reading material, and the covered outdoor area is great for meeting other travellers and having a laugh. Bathrooms are very clean, the showers are amazing, and there are enough that I never had to wait. The water pressure is seriously high! One small thing to watch, the toilets show red when occupied, but apparently they can still be opened. Maybe I just didn’t lock it properly. And yes, the rooms are great too. Top-notch place!

Free freshly baked bread every morning was a lovely bonus, and the Wi-Fi is very good. There’s also a chill-out area with games and a TV with lots of movies. Reception was so friendly, and the kitchen, rooms, and bathrooms were all very clean. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in in New Zealand, and my best so far. 👏☺️

Every bed has its own charging point, so your phone can charge right beside you instead of across the room. The Wi-Fi is proper free Wi-Fi too, just connect and stay online, unlike hostels that give you an access code limited to 1GB for a week. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is cool, and the location’s great. One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. If I come back to Christchurch, I’d stay here again!

Good value for everything included, and I’d stay here again. There’s fresh bread in the morning and pasta in the evening. The workers are really friendly, and so are the other hostel guests. 10/10.

We stayed in the family room while I was in town for knee surgery. It’s a great size for the price, and everything has been quite accessible. There are a bunch of restaurants around the corner, and Hagley park is nearby. The owner and his super cute dog were lovely, and everyone has been welcoming and friendly. The place has a nice size and atmosphere. I’d 10/10 come back and recommend it!
