We had everything we needed in a super clean suite. The little kitchen was just right, with a small fridge, cooktop and dining table. Our ground-floor unit was close to where we parked, so bringing in luggage was easy. It’s near downtown but the neighborhood is very quiet. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Merivale and highly recommend it!

Wayne and Karen really made the stay special. They’re friendly, lovely, hardworking hosts, and it’s clear how much they care about the manor and their guests’ comfort. We stayed for 3 nights, and the room was spacious and elegantly decorated, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and a quiet atmosphere that made it easy to unwind. Merivale Manor is in a great spot in Merivale, peaceful but still close to the best of Christchurch. It had everything we hoped for and more, with historical charm alongside modern comfort. We’d definitely recommend it and will be back.

We loved the history and character of Merivale Manor. Management made us feel welcome, and it was easy to get to a place to eat and public transportation. Our room was beside the street but stayed very quiet. It was a sweet spot for one night, and we'd be comfortable staying longer.

After 10 days in a camper van, this hotel felt like a welcome bit of luxury. Our room was stylish and comfortable, and Karen and Wayne were such friendly, welcoming hosts. We loved it and would definitely recommend it!

Wayne and Karen made for a lovely stay. The room in the main house was lovely too, and we could walk or catch a bus into the city. They also gave us good local food recommendations. Fully recommend it, and we'd love to stay again. Thank you.
