The Classic Villa

We were worn out from travelling when we arrived late, so it meant a lot that a staff member came to open the door, showed us around, and helped us settle in, even though we'd already been given instructions for finding our room. We stayed just one night and enjoyed the thoughtful details in the room and at breakfast.

There's a short walk into town, and you can catch a tram right on the street. We got a warm welcome and found the small hotel beautifully appointed, though parking is limited. Breakfast is continental and looks substantial. There are plenty of tea and coffee options, fresh fruit throughout the day, and port to finish the evening.

We were just a short walk from the CBD centre, and the accommodation was very well appointed and well serviced. The meal plan was excellent, and the management team were friendly and attentive. A lovely boutique stay for the value, with hospitality I really appreciated. I'd recommend it to everyone, and it's well worth a stay.

We liked the original decor in the hallway and the complimentary port in the evening, a nice surprise from our hosts Lindsey and Jo. Our rooms, 1 and 2, were clean, tidy and in very good condition. They were welcoming and went out of their way to make the stay memorable. It was quiet despite the location, which I think had more to do with the villa's quality than traffic. Extra coffee on the patio, plus complimentary sunscreen and bug spray, were appreciated. Breakfast was a nice, varied continental spread, though I do like a poached egg on holiday. The villa-style B&B is in the town centre, close to shops and the river. A walk, canoe trip or nostalgic punt ride are options along the water. The hosts were friendly and knew the area well, with good conversation. We'd visit again and recommend it to family and friends.
