Middlepark Motel

This was our third stay in the last two years, and we now book 2 rooms because our friends ike it too. This time we were staying for a week. The management are kind, there’s plenty of space, and the location is great. We got fresh towels and our beds tidied each day. We'd be sad to see it sold, as we'll always try here first.

There was moldy food on a plate in the cupboard, and razors and toothbrushes had been left behind by previous guests. The place was filthy, nothing worked, and cupboard doors were falling off. We could never find any staff around. During our stay, couples were fighting and the police kept turning up. When the manager eventually appeared, he hit on me and tried to get me to stay in his room. I was meant to be here with my kids. Not recommended. I wouldn't let my dog stay there.

Peace is the word for this place. City accommodation can be noisy enough to keep you awake, but I got a good night's sleep here. It's the best place I've stayed in Christchurch. Nothing flashy, but it gave me what I needed. Thank you.

The place seemed neglected, with worn curtains, torn leather-look seating and untidy grounds. I’d booked after seeing the online photos, but it didn’t match what I expected, so I decided not to stay. It looks as though the owner has it listed for redevelopment.
