The Bealey Quarter - The Studios

The cleanliness and comfort were a real plus at Beasley Quarter Studios. The rooms were immaculate, with fresh bedding and a well-kept bathroom. Breakfast was decent, though a bit hit and miss, and there weren't enough gluten-free and milk options to make the morning meal more substantial. The rooms themselves are compact and feel crowded with furniture. I found it like working my luggage through an obstacle course, and the armchair seemed unnecessary. We also couldn't find the WiFi details in the room, though luckily we had a group chat where we could share that information. Despite those issues, I'm giving Beasley Quarter Studios four stars for keeping things clean and comfortable.

We spent 140 NZD a night, which I thought was good value. After a long journey, we arrived at 10 am and they kindly let us check in early for free. Our compact room had two single beds and enough room for our two suitcases. It had plenty of electrical sockets, plus USB and HDMI ports for the TV, though we didn't try them. The WiFi was fast and worked well for streaming. The modern bathroom had an okay shower. I wish the showerhead were bigger to cover more area. Soap, shampoo and conditioner came in small plastic bottles, each with a sticker seal to show it hadn't been used. I thought those seals created unnecessary plastic waste. The room faced the road on the ground floor and had only curtains, so you'd need to close them for privacy. There was no bottled water, but the bar would refill our bottle with tap water. A kettle, tea, coffee and even hot chocolate were provided. Cold breakfast was included. I liked it, though my friend wasn't impressed. The selection was limited but enough: fruit, croissant, toast, cereal, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

Bealey Quarter is in a good location, with clean, spacious rooms and great bathrooms. The staff were a little serious, and the kitchen could have been cleaner. The restaurant was nice. Fine for a night or two.

The staff were excellent, and there's a very good restaurant and bar right next door. The rooms come in a variety of types, and ours was even better than it looked in the photos. Everything was perfect.
