Julie and Darren were great hosts, always ready to share the local vibe and point us in the right direction. Coromandel town is lovely, with good restaurants and cafes and a great baker. We stayed at Studio 531 in February 2025, in the upstairs studio, and it was probably the best equipped place of our trip. There was plenty of space, great self-catering facilities, and lovely views across to the mussel boats at Te Kouma. It's easy to find on Preeces Point Road, just a couple of kms out of Coramandel town. Highly recommended.

Julie and Darren were very helpful with information about the local area. The room was superb, with amazing views through the treetops to the bay. It's a beautiful, quiet place to stay outside the townsite, with nature walks in the evening.

The downstairs studio at Studio 531 made for a fabulous two-night getaway over Waitangi weekend. Julie and Darren gave us great tips about local attractions, including the incredible Driving Creek railway. The studio felt fresh and modern, with a stylish bathroom, well-equipped kitchen, and a super-comfy bed. From the bed there's a view over the treetops to the water beyond. It's just five minutes from Coromandel town but feels secluded and private. We'll definitely be back.

The setting is breathtaking, and the views are simply stunning. We came with our two daughters, aged 21 and 17, who had their own separate little cottage. Julie and Darren were fantastic, welcoming hosts. It's a wonderful private getaway where you can switch off, tune in to the glorious surroundings, and appreciate the sounds of nature. There's also a private beach we plan to enjoy over the next day or two. Coromandel township is only five minutes away. Highly recommend it for quality time away from it all. Five stars plus!

The bedroom views are amazing, and the studio was very comfortable and larger than you'd expect. Studio 531 is well placed for coastal walks, Driving Creek Railway, and Coromandel Town. The owners are lovely and very helpful, and they may even take you on a tour if you ask. We loved our short stay and only wish we'd had longer to explore the area. Contact the owners directly through their website!
