The Olive Tree

Rae arranged a pickup from the bus when we arrived and drove us to the races the following day, which we appreciated. Even so, we left disappointed and wouldn't stay at The Olive Tree, Cromwell again. The price didn't feel justified, and the photos gave a misleading impression. We'd especially looked forward to the magnificent spa bath shown in one of the first photos. My husband and I both have arthritis, and the sudden cold snap had made us uncomfortable, so we hoped to warm up in it. Rae said it couldn't be used because of water shortages in Cromwell. Later, locals we met at dinner called that “what bull#*+t.” When my husband asked Rae about it the next day, she said she was “water wise.” Make of that what you will. The chicken photos also suggested eggs might be served at breakfast, but there was only toast and muesli. I can't recommend the accommodation.

Are made us feel completely at home and was a wonderful hostess. The homemade muesli was great too, I can vouch for it. THANK YOU. If you get the chance to stay here, you won't be disappointed.

After a tiring journey, we got a lovely warm welcome. The room was spacious, bright, and airy. I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family.

Rae was a lovely host, and breakfast had a nice range of choices. At $135, the stay felt worth the experience.
