Carisbrook Motel

The room is large and has a kitchen, and both the service and location were good. There’s no air conditioning. The bed heater plugs are tucked away behind the big bed, and the living room heater has to be used with the thermostat.

It was nice to arrive and find the heating already on. The units are clean, quiet, roomy and well lit, with parking right outside the door. There’s a bus stop across the road if you’d rather not look for parking downtown, and they deliver a morning newspaper to your door.

Mike was extremely helpful and full of information, and my small dog was happy to be allowed inside. For $130 a night, we had a warm, spacious one bedroom unit with a separate lounge, dining table and television. The bathroom was more than adequate, though my wife was hoping for a bath. The bed was extremely soft, and a few things could do with updating or maintenance. The front door squeaks worse than grandma’s prosthetic hip. Still, I’d be very happy to come back. Thanks very much.

The location was great, and the host was friendly, polite and welcoming. I was impressed by how clean the whole property was and how much pride had gone into it. The garage parking put my mind at ease about my vehicle, and my travel companion was welcomed too since the place is pet friendly. The unit was warm and comfortable, the bed was good, the cushions were cosy, the shower was lovely and hot with great pressure, and the kitchen had everything. It was affordable, and my stay exceeded expectations. I’ll recommend it and return if I’m in the area.
