Pukaki Holiday Apartments

Filthy, grubby apartment that stinks of dog. It’s full of old dirt, grime and stains, and the electrical light fittings are unsafe. Definitely not worth the money. I’ve posted images. The WiFi is useless, about as good as sticking your finger in a potato.

We were disappointed when we arrived. The photo showed a different apartment. It was clean enough, but small, dark and with no outlook. There’s a scruffy little BBQ area outside that needs cleaning up. Parking is metered street parking at $2.50 an hour. It wasn’t a cheap stay, and I’d suggest looking elsewhere for better value and free parking.

JANUARY 2025. Booked by an Australian business. The accommodation is centrally located in Rotorua, with ample rooms and space and clean linen. The rest was filthy. Watch out on the outdoor balcony, where nails stick up from the floorboards. The barbecue was dirty, and even the ashtray hadn’t been emptied. The laundry area was dirty and packed with lint, so I didn’t use it. Gross. Some parts of the kitchen were dirty, and dirty dishes had been put back in the cupboards. There’s very little air conditioning outside the bedroom, and the place was musty and smelly throughout. Communication was poor. With stairs leading to the second floor, it’s not suitable for elderly or disabled guests. Stove instructions would’ve been helpful. We could have found better accommodation for the price. The beds were comfortable and the location is great, but that’s where the good points end. Opening the gate to Apt B, it looked grubby, and inside it was dark and dated. None of the website photos looked like this place. There’s no soundproofing between this apartment and the one above: all we heard was people stomping around and talking. Definitely not worth the money.
