The room was generous in size, with two bedrooms, a lounge, kitchen area and a good sized bathroom. Much better than the shoe box rooms in the centre of town. The Commodore Dunedin is well located, with an easy, flat walk into the city. The hosts and staff are some of the kindest and most generous people you could meet. We’ll stay at the Commodore next time we’re in Dunedin.

Rick and the team were incredibly kind and helpful, and everything was immaculately clean and tidy. It was a real treat to have the botanic gardens right next door for morning walks, with wood pigeons just outside our window. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

I had a very sick husband in hospital, and the reception staff looked after me with such care and thoughtfulness. I stayed a second time too. The rooms are clean and big, and they had put the heater on for me before I arrived. You won’t go wrong choosing this motel. I recommend it!

The owners made the place feel friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. My single studio was clean, well appointed and just right for my needs. I was glad to be on the second floor, facing the Botanic Gardens and away from the road. Waking to birdsong each morning was lovely. It’s also ideally placed, just down the road from the University of Otago and within walking distance of town.

Rick, the owner, was friendly and very helpful. The place was clean and tidy, and its location close to Logan Park worked well for our tournament. It’s also near the one way, so there was a bit of street noise.
