March Apartments

It's a nice walk into town, but getting back up the steep hills can be hard if your mobility isn't great or you're carrying heavy groceries. You'll find those hills in most parts of Dunedin, though. There are nearby local buses that run often, or you could hire a car. The rooms were amazing, with everything needed for cooking and cleaning, and the facilities were very well looked after. Natalie was great and helped whenever I asked.

The room was spotless and clearly very well maintained, and the location is fantastic. Natalie was friendly and professional, and made things easy from check-in right through to check-out. I booked through Booking.com, and they were great to deal with too, so everything went smoothly. I had an absolutely amazing stay at March Apartments. It deserves more than five stars, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

We chose a studio as a quiet base, about 2 km from the town centre. The complex is modest, with two floors, and the landscaping was lovely and well kept. Parking was a little tight, but each unit has its own assigned bay. Our studio had a comfortable king-sized bed, a small dining area, a living room, an en-suite bathroom, and a small balcony that I suspect was for smokers. The kitchen had basic utensils, a microwave, a mini oven, and a nice 'habaki' style hot plate, but wasn't set up for major cooking. The studio didn't have a washing machine, though the single and double bedroom units do.

The apartment entrance and parking space were very tight. If you're not used to that or you're driving a big car, I wouldn't recommend it. I stayed two nights in the single room and three in the larger room. The larger one had a nice kitchen and a washer-dryer, while the single room didn't have enough space for cooking. I didn't meet any staff during my stay. My room was ready, with the key inside when I checked in, and I dropped the key into a box when I checked out.
