The rooms and bathroom facilities were basic. The toilet lights wouldn't turn on at all, and the heater in our room did nothing to keep us warm. I arrived at 18:15 on 17 May to find the whole building pitch black. The Google phone number didn't work, and the booking platform hadn't sent any notice. The only contact number I could find was taped to the front door. When I called, the contact person said power would be back by 18:30. It wasn't, so I called again and was told they had no idea when it would return. They claimed there were many other guests inside, but the building was completely silent, with no emergency lights or backup power. Electricity finally came back around 20:00. I asked to cancel for free, but they refused, saying it wasn't their fault and I could still check in. Please choose other accommodation and stay somewhere safe.

At least the rooms were clean, and the showers had hot water with good pressure. The rest was a long list of problems: electrical outlets buzzed and crackled when used, there was a possum sized hole in the men's shower stall, and the door locks almost worked, but not quite. At 8:30 pm, I went to the bar and was told, "Nah, kitchens closed aye." The front-of-house lad seemed more interested in his hair and phone call than his job. There were plenty more issues, but space is limited. I definitely would NOT recommend it. Shout out to the Fairlie Hotel down the road for good tucker, good service, and friendly staff.

My steak was cooked just right, and the salad was full of flavour. We came in with the Ride of Remembrance ride and had lunch at the Gladstone hotel today. Thanks for a lovely visit.

The rooms are basic but clean, with a shared bathroom. We had good meals and cold beer, and the owners gave us a warm welcome with excellent hospitality. A great budget friendly option.

The staff are incredibly friendly, and although the place is old, it's extremely clean. For the lowest priced accommodation in the area, you get more than you might expect. Don't be put off by the bad reviews.
