Peter and the team were awesome, and we had a really positive stay at Anchorage. I was there with friends and their baby, after they’d had a bad experience at another Taupo hotel. This place felt welcoming and family-friendly. The pool is centrally located and easy for guests to get to, and there are Weber BBQs spread around for everyone to use, which I loved. The facilities were outstanding. It’s near shopping areas, the Sailing Club, and the lakefront walkway, with town just a short drive away. I’ve already recommended it to family and will keep it in mind for future trips. 10/10.

We were so comfortable at the resort that we didn’t even feel like going out. The TV had YouTube and other updated features, so there was plenty to watch. Our room was neat, clean, and beautifully kept, with a lovely scent as soon as we walked in. The bed and room setup were very comfortable. The lake view and pools were stunning and made the stay feel peaceful. The owner was super nice and welcoming. I’ll come back when I visit Tapo, and I’d gladly recommend it to friends, family, and my TikTok friends. Truly a wonderful stay!

The spa was so clean, and it faces right out to the lake. The pools were crystal clear, with none of the usual stuff floating around. Peter upgraded our room for free when he saw on the computer that we were staying with two babies. He was always smiling and really engaged with guests. The rooms smelled amazing and were spotless, and they gave us loads of towels, including pool towels. They never give you enough towels elsewhere, if you know, you know. This is our new place to stay in taupo, and we can’t wait to return. You’re amazing, Peter and wife. Thank you 🙂

After a long drive through roadworks, the owner’s warmth and thoughtfulness were very welcome. Our spectacular room looked over the lake, was spotless, and had everything we needed. It’s an older property, which is why I gave it 4-star, but everything else more than made up for that. We didn’t get time to use the hot tub or pool, though the area looked lovely and also faced the lake. Across the road is the fantastic Two Mile Bay Sailing Club, with drinks, pizza, great music, and a great vibe. Highly recommend.

We stayed three nights at Anchorage Hotel and couldn’t find a single fault. The place was clean, tidy, comfortable, and nicely presented throughout. The pools and spa were a highlight, beautifully maintained and perfect for relaxing. It felt peaceful and welcoming, and we could properly switch off and enjoy our time away. A fantastic 5-star stay. We’d highly recommend it and will definitely be back.
