The house is a little tricky to find at first. It’s up a long drive behind the Anchorage motel, just off the main lake road. Once there, we loved the large deck with lake and town views, and the spa was a hit. Eight of us stayed for three days, and the home’s standard impressed us. It’s set up well for a larger group, possibly several families. There are three bathrooms, including an ensuite off the downstairs master bedroom, plus a separate toilet and bathroom upstairs for the other three bedrooms. A few rooms are a tight fit, but every bedroom was comfortable and nicely furnished. The full laundry came in handy after several spa sessions, and both spa towels and bath towels were supplied. The kitchen was fully equipped, and the fire was laid ready to light. It warmed most of the house. The 2 Mile Bay Sailing & Power Boat Club is a two-minute walk away and serves Havana coffee, a win in itself. Highly recommend, and we’ll absolutely stay again.

The facilities were well looked after, and you could tell the place had been professionally cleaned after each stay. Booking through Lakeside Accommodation made it feel like home without feeling as if you were staying in someone’s house. Big thanks to Stephanie for finding us a place at such short notice. I’ll definitely book through them next time we’re in Taupo.
