Parking may be awkward if you're bringing a long vehicle, but that was my only real issue. My corner room was quiet, relaxing, clean, and comfortable, and everything was set up well. I stayed at Waikanae Motel for two nights while travelling during the Bay of Plenty landslide, which made the trip much longer than expected and had me arriving very late. Carolyn made the late check-in easy with clear directions for finding the key and getting inside. I really appreciated her help after a stressful journey, and would happily stay again.

I accidentally left my favourite jacket behind, and the staff quickly helped arrange to have it sent back by NZ Post. It arrived safely, so a big thanks to the team for sorting that out. We stayed in the garden room, which was spacious, very clean, and well maintained. The friendly staff were always ready to help, and the amenities were thoughtfully provided. It was a relaxing stay, and we'd gladly return and recommend this motel.

Parking was a little tight, but it didn't spoil a great stay. The room was comfortable, clean, and set up well, with everything we needed provided. The location near the beach was perfect, and the staff were friendly.

We had no complaints and would definitely stay again on our next visit. The service was efficient and unobtrusive, and the man at reception was helpful when we arrived and friendly throughout. Our room had everything we needed, including cooking facilities, a nice kitchen table, a comfortable bed and couches, and a good TV. There was also a heat pump and air conditioning in the lounge, plus a tidy modern bathroom. The interior had a well-kept 80's / 90's feel. We could see the sea from our upstairs room and balcony, and the location was lovely, close to the water, town, and eateries, while still reasonably quiet. We were in Gisborne to visit a relative, and the room was clean and tidy.
