The beach is just across a small road, and there’s a dairy and restaurant handy nearby. We loved the quiet setting, sea views, and lovely gardens. We’d have stayed longer than our two booked nights if we’d had the time. Highly recommend.

We had a really relaxing week away from the noise and bustle of town. The unit was just right for the two of us, with a very comfortable bed and plenty of spare pillows and covers. The bathroom and shower were good, and the kitchen had everything we needed, from a jug and toaster to a fridge, hotplate, dishes, and utensils. A lovely holiday spot right by the beach, with all the comforts of home.

A very clean place with friendly people and great service. The mattresses were truly awful, and the rooms could use a little decorating, though then it might lose some of its old-school feel and cost more per night. The position is great and the price was okay. If you can, choose one of the best rooms for the view over the beach and Golden Bay. A lovely old-school NZ motel.

The unit had everything we needed, and it was very clean, with a comfy bed and a great view. Cornelius was so friendly and patient when we weren’t sure whether we’d need to change our arrival plans.

We stayed for 10 nights in February and March 2021. It was a great place, very quiet, and the service was wonderful. We enjoyed it so much that we’ve already booked to come back next year.
