We’ve used Anglesea Motel for long stays before without any trouble, and expected to book several rooms through November, maybe December too. That’s why the way our recent rate issue was handled was so disappointing. When I called reception to extend two staff members’ stay, I was told we’d get a better nightly rate if we booked for longer. We agreed to another month based on that, and they said the manager was overseas but would confirm the new rate by email soon. The invoice came through at the original nightly rate instead. When I queried it, I was told the staff member who’d made the offer “no longer works here.” The manager said the rate wouldn’t change and that if we didn’t like it, “you can go and find something else.” As a returning customer discussing bookings over several months, I found that dismissive and extremely unprofessional. Nobody tried to look into the promise, check earlier messages, or find a constructive fix. I’ve also emailed the owner, Mark, several times and haven’t had a reply. We need clear communication and professional service for long-term business arrangements. This experience has left us with no confidence in continuing with Anglesea Motel. I hope management takes this seriously and improves how it deals with long-term customers.

The location is great, with everything you need within walking distance. Rooms are well appointed and newly refurbished, and the staff were very helpful. I’d recommend it to everyone.

The best thing was the great price. I’m giving the place the benefit of the doubt since it seems to have been acquired recently and is being updated. My room had new kitchen cabinets and a decent amount of kitchenware. It wouldn’t suit gourmet cooking, though breakfast would be doable. The double bed was comfortable, but the furniture made the room feel a bit cramped. Tea and coffee were provided, but there’s no breakfast on site.

A slight smell from the drains, but it wasn’t too bad. The room itself was lovely, with everything you need, a comfortable bed, and a spa bath and shower. The staff were friendly too. Very nice, I’d definitely go back 😊

The room was average, and there was barely any internet. The TV wasn’t connected to an aerial either, so it was useless. My buddy had the key when we went out in the morning, and I got back first. Reception wouldn’t give me another key because the booking wasn’t in my name. I called my buddy and handed the phone over, but the staff member refused to speak to him and said there was no way they’d let me in. I walked away and won’t ever return. There are better options nearby, so make this your last choice.
