Camelot on Ulster

The beds were so comfortable we didn’t want to get up, and the room felt spacious and welcoming. We stayed in Room 18 as a family of three, travelling from the Far North to New Plymouth and back, and got the rest we needed. Everything felt updated, from the kitchen to the bathroom, and the shower was clean, which matters to us. The carpet was nice underfoot too. The A.C was quite loud, with a strange bassy sound, and the pillows were too puffy and left my neck sore. Still, it was a wonderful stay and I’d come back.

Parking was easy, and the room had great amenities. It was clean and felt luxurious for what we paid. The staff were lovely and helpful too.

The staff were lovely and flexible when our plans changed at the last minute, and they gave us a nice discount. We were in town for our son’s surgery. The rooms were fresh, clean and beautiful, and it was very child friendly. Easily the best motel we’ve stayed in.

Reception were friendly and gave us a warm welcome. They left milk in the room, along with tea and coffee, which was a nice touch. For a budget motel, the price was decent, and it’s about a 25-minute walk to the restaurants and bars on Victoria Street. The bed was okay, though not the most comfortable. There was air conditioning and Sky TV, which were a bonus. I wasn’t sure how to use the motel amenities, and the door locks were confusing, so I didn’t feel confident I’d locked the door from inside. The bedroom blinds let morning light in, with no blackout curtain.
