Microtel Lodge

The host was polite and friendly, and my ground-floor studio was pretty good. Rooms are clean and good value, though tiny. Parking is available, but getting yourself through the narrow corridor is a squeeze. The walls seem thin, so I wouldn't call the rooms quiet, but it was sufficient.

The front desk guy was so kind. He showed me around, and there's a lot of facilities. I had a great time in Hamilton and really liked the cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. I stayed one night in a cozy single room with a shared bathroom, and wouldn't hesitate to return. Just a couple of things to know: the single beds aren't very long. I'm 6'2" and had to sleep diagonally, so anyone taller could have a hard time getting much sleep. Also, people woke me around midnight yelling while trying to park. I don't sleep heavily and it didn't really bother me, but those two things could be major flaws for some people. Thanks, guys!

The room is about as tiny as they come, with hardly any storage, but for one person or a quick stop it's perfect and great value. The communal kitchen was fully stocked, and both the room and bathroom were very clean. The manager was lovely and quickly helped when our code didn't work at first. Comfortable bed, too. Easy five-minute drive to the city centre.

The rooms were clean, quiet and really nice. Apparently this is a two-star hotel? What? They were better than some four-star places, for real. I'd recommend it to a couple travelling through.
