We had a lovely, relaxing time at Spa Lodge Motel, and I'd happily stay again. Simone was attentive and communicated clearly about the Fete happening that weekend. She also helped with anything we needed, including laundry, and the room service was excellent. The office had board games we could borrow for the evening. I appreciated how well the place worked for my disability needs. The paths were lit at night and their edges marked in white, so I could see where I was walking and didn't worry about tripping. Parking was excellent, and the restaurants, shops and hot pools were only a two-minute walk away. The motel has a charming vintage character, which I prefer to the feel of modern motels. It's a tranquil spot with lovely scenery and birds around. Our room was very clean, the bed I slept in was comfortable, the gas-heated hot water was welcome, and the shower had great pressure. There were enough kitchen utensils for us to cook without any trouble. Thank you for having us, Simone 😊

We keep coming back to stay here. Simone is a lovely host, and the motel is tucked down a side street, so it's peaceful despite being very central. Restaurants and the hotpools are about a two-minute walk away. The rooms are large, sunny, clean and well appointed.

This was our second stay, and we'll certainly return. The service is impeccable and everything is close enough to reach on foot. Although the motel is older, the rooms are comfortable, well kept and have everything you need.

We booked at the last minute for our Hanmer trip and had a great stay. It's family friendly, with the town and pools an easy walk away, plus plenty of parking and a BBQ on site. Simone, the owner, was lovely and welcoming. I liked the reusable containers for milk, tea and coffee, too. We'd definitely stay again.

After staying at six motels around the South Island, this was our favourite. It's an older-style place, but the cleanest one we stayed in, and we'll be back. Hanmer Springs is a five-minute walk or less, and the motel itself was quiet and restful. The manager was pleasant and easy to deal with.
