The staff made a great impression, welcoming us with a smile when we arrived a couple of hours early and letting us check in straight away. The motel also provided a towel for the thermal pools at no cost. They washed, dried and brought our laundry to the room for NZ$10. Our room was spotless, spacious and really comfortable, and everything Hanmer has to offer is within walking distance. We couldn't have asked for a better experience in this lovely little town. We'll come back and stay longer next time. Highly recommended.

Tussock was one of our final stops on a South Island trip, and it was a good one. The reception was warm, inviting and friendly, and the rooms were very nice with comfortable beds. I'd recommend it to others without hesitation.

The hot pools and town center are just a short stroll away, which made our weekend easy to enjoy. We were welcomed warmly at reception, and the room was spotless. Nothing gave us any trouble, the shower had good pressure, and the spa bath was great. Thanks, Tussock Peak Lodge.

A clean, cozy room and only a few minutes on foot from the spring pool. This was easily one of our best stays in New Zealand. If we get the chance to visit Hammer Spring again, we’d happily stay another night.

The little details made this stay especially comfortable. The bedside phone chargers worked wirelessly, so there was no need to hunt for a compatible power adapter, and there are two electric car chargers on-site. The coffee machine was well stocked, too, and everything was exceptionally clean. I’ve stayed at plenty of large hotels and resorts around the world, but Tussock Peak Motor Lodge stands out. I’d give it 10/10 if I could. I’m fully committed to making the 8-hour drive again soon, and already look forward to the comfort and service waiting here.
