The Park Motel

The staff were friendly and helpful, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable two-night stay. It's a clean, fairly modern motel about five minutes from Hawera CBD. Our main room was really large, with a seating area, table and chairs, plus a separate, well-stocked kitchenette. The updated bathroom had a spa bath with shower. I prefer a regular shower, though, since the bath sides can be tricky to get in and out of when wet. Nice touches outside the room were the cafe table and chairs and a sand bucket for smokers. We stopped here for one night on the way through. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were nice and clean, which matters because I'm fussy. The kitchen and bathroom supplies were good too.

It was very cold in Hāwera, but the heaters kept our two-bedroom apartment warm. Parking was good and right beside the unit. The room was clean and had a spa bath, though I didn't use it.

We slept well: the bed was very comfortable and the area quiet. Our large room was spotless and had a kitchenette, plus parking right outside. The shower pressure was great, and there were plenty of towels and toiletries. We also used the guest laundry, which cost 10 dollars including detergent. The motel is opposite a lovely park. We walked through it to the main street for the shops and a restaurant. Staff greeted us warmly when we arrived and gave us a cheerful send-off when we returned the key. Fantastic value, and I'd thoroughly recommend staying here.
