The grounds are peaceful and quiet, and the host showed me around the extensive garden, helping me identify the plants. I stayed just one night after flying into Auckland. It was an easy 45-minute drive from the airport. I arrived around 12:30 pm, though I understand traffic gets worse later in the day. Such a beautiful setting.

The spacious rooms had thoughtful little treats and notes, which were a lovely touch. We felt completely welcome to explore the property, which is like an outdoor museum, obviously cared for and cultivated with so much love. The hosts were unbelievably gracious and accommodating.

The garden was the standout for us, with animal and character art scattered around, plus ducks and swans. It’s well kept and a lovely place to sit. S3lwyn was open and friendly. Our room was compact, but the open and enclosed sitting areas worked well for tea, coffee, or drinks. Breakfast was generous, and the stay was very comfortable.

We spent the evening with a bottle of wine in the gardens and had a great time. It’s a place to unwind and recharge, with picturesque grounds guests can wander around. The hosts were warm and helpful, even finding matches for our daughter’s birthday cake, and they gave her a bag of toys too. It felt very family-friendly. The beds were huge and comfortable, and the shower was a five-star experience on its own. The TV is small and awkwardly placed, but watching TV isn’t really what this place is for. A secluded, relaxing country-style BnB that deserves its great reviews.
