I'd avoid this place. They only let you book through booking.com, then say you can't cancel even when you try days ahead. The customer service was awful. Book at your own risk, and read the other reviews before deciding. I'd look elsewhere.

The beds are so comfy, and the rooms are a decent size with nice tables outside. One unit had a lovely new bathroom but a TV that didn't work. The other had an older bathroom and a working TV. The hotel staff were amazing and friendly, and some of the other customers were lovely too 😁. The laundry signs could use an update. I folded the hotel's laundry rather than leave it aside while I did mine, and wasn't sure of the dryer price, so I waited to see if my $2 would cover it. Hokitika is beautiful, and I'd probably stay here again.

I won't be back. The rooms cost far too much for what you get, and ours was old, tired and not very clean. There was no Wi-Fi or in-room sink for dishes. The shower drained badly, so we had to stand in each other's dirty water, and we had to ask for clean towels.

The room was clean, well equipped and really good, with a huge bathroom and nice towels. The kitchen is small, but it's right in town, so going out is easy. A lovely lady welcomed us.
