We booked two nights at The Lodge and loved the fireplace. The place was beautifully decorated, warm and cosy, and had all the amenities we needed, including a private back yard. One of the major hotels we used to stay at now looks shabby by comparison. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in the future.

The room, ‘Feathers’, was spotless and welcoming, with a piece of fudge from Toots Sweet. It was cosy but spacious, with a gas fireplace, a well equipped kitchen, a comfy bed with quality sheets, heated bathroom floors, and a spa bath. Having Bill Richardson’s Transport World across the road and the amazing Grille Diner nearby was an added bonus.

We had a lovely two nights in the "Lollies" cottage, which had aircon, a fireplace, good Wi-Fi, and all the amenities we needed. There's even a $1 Lollies machine installed. The accommodation, service, beds, and location near the Transport Museum all impressed us. I'd definitely recommend it.

We were on our way to Stewart Island and stayed just one night in the modern, clean, very spacious “Feathers” mobility room. It's a great base for Transport World, right across the road. For dinner, they offered to book us at ”Buster Crabb” Restaurant, with a free pick-up and return and a 10% discount. We enjoyed it too.

The Lodges has high-standard rooms and facilities, with thought put into all the services. Our host was excellent, very helpful, and knew the local attractions well. I'd definitely recommend it.
