That breakfast was a real treat, especially the honey and peanut butter. It was delicious and full of flavour, warmth and humour. John and Helen made us feel welcome from the start, and were such warm, entertaining and informative hosts. The bed was comfortable and the bath was divine. Helen gave us a lovely welcome, and our room felt very cozy. The breakfast was prepared with care, and John introduced us to several kinds of honey. The path up to the accommodation is steep, though manageable, and we could park comfortably at the top. A great choice if you want a family atmosphere and a personal touch.

The next morning, breakfast was beautifully laid out, and John cheerfully showed us different kinds of honey. Both hosts felt friendly and genuine, which made the stay memorable. Even the walk up the hill and Helen greeting us in his charming English accent made arrival feel like a scene from a movie.

The hosts were friendly and the place has a lovely feel. Getting there takes a very steep driveway, and you need a physical credit card since phone payment isn't supported. The bed was a bit hard, so the stay wasn't the smoothest. Still, a unique experience and a lovely place.

The quirky rooms had plenty of character, which suited us. Breakfast was fabulous, especially the host's eggs on toast with a special sauce, and it was nice hearing from other travellers. We stayed in January and really liked being so close to the Waitomo Caves. There isn't much else to do nearby, so keep that in mind when booking, though Helen&John’s cute place is worth a detour.
