I paid just $17 for an unpowered van site, such good value. The views were stunning, and the staff were really friendly and helpful, even showing me around the whole site. The kitchen was clean and well equipped, with plenty of room to hang out, and there were hot showers too. I used the pool, which was a bonus, and Waitomo Caves was only a short drive away. Loved ending my trip here, would recommend it to anyone.

We loved how clean and thoughtfully organised everything was, especially the spotless, well-maintained showers and the superbly equipped kitchen. The location was perfect, too. From arrival, the team were incredibly friendly, funny, and focused on making guests feel welcome and comfortable. You can tell they really care and go the extra mile. There’s a sweet dog on the property, and the place is pet-friendly and welcoming to kids, so it works really well for families and people travelling with animals. We couldn’t have asked for more. Highly, highly recommended! 🐶✨

We only had one night here because our travel schedule was tight, but we would gladly have stayed longer. It’s also close to lots of attractions. The staff were kind, helpful, and understanding, and the place felt clean and welcoming. We liked the well-equipped kitchen and the lovely shared space, plus the animals around the property. It seems great for families with children and is pet-friendly too. I sincerely recommend it.

If there’d been more to do in Waitomo, I’d have stayed longer without hesitation. The hostel itself is close to flawless, with a layout and setup that make sense and a really high standard of cleanliness. Dave, the receptionist, was super helpful, funny, and easy to talk to, and his dog Jorge was adorable and incredibly friendly. Honestly, it’s the cleanest, best put-together hostel I’ve stayed in so far.
