Alpine-pacific Holiday Park

There was plenty of room on our pitch, and the views were incredible. The kitchen stayed clean and never got too busy, and we loved having communal pots and pans to cook with. We hadn’t found that at the other campsites we stayed at while travelling around NZ. The facilities were always spotless. This was our favourite campsite of the trip, highly recommend :)

With the red weather warning moving down the north and east coasts of the South Island, we made a last-minute choice to stop here and got one of the last powered camper sites. It turned out to be a great call. The rain came down hard, but the holiday park’s facilities were excellent. The bathroom setup was especially cool, I loved the doors, and the shower had really strong pressure, which is high on my list. Lots of little details had been thought through.

The grounds were immaculate, and the clean apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We’d booked a studio motel at first, but realized on arrival it was too small for us. The lovely owner quickly found us a two-bedroom studio, much faster than we expected. The pool and spas were a welcome extra during the major heat wave. Thanks for a pleasant stay. We’ll definitely be back. Five stars all the way.

For a private room advertised with kitchen access, it was disappointing. Our room was very small, and the toilet was quite a long way away. The kitchen didn’t have even a knife or cutlery, let alone plates or cups. Maybe it works better if you’re camping.
