We spent three nights at The Factory celebrating our small wedding with family and friends. The setting was perfect for being together while still giving everyone room to have some time apart. The beach is just over the road, and the mountain backdrop with snow on the peaks was spectacular. It’s such a unique spot. Sean and Skip were wonderful to work with. They replied promptly and were so willing to do whatever they could to make our time special. We absolutely loved The Factory, and it now has a place in our hearts as our wedding venue.

My husband and I went to The Factory in August 2025 for our tenth wedding anniversary, and the weekend was magical. The place exceeded every expectation, from its location and layout to the amenities and thoughtful touches. The hosts were especially incredible. Sean and Skip arranged a lovely catered meal for our first evening. The following day we swam with dolphins, even in winter, and that night we had dinner at nearby Hapuku Lodge + Tree Houses. It was a perfect addition to our romantic getaway. If you want a luxurious, intimate stay with modern comforts and a bit of adventure, The Factory is a gem. We couldn’t recommend it more.

The beach is just a minute’s walk away, and we could hear the waves in the morning. This beautiful Kaikoura accommodation is a short drive from the main centre, with the train tracks right behind the property and a clear view of trains passing. The property and bedrooms are clean and well cared for. The coffee machine was a lovely touch.

The Factory was one of our favourite stops during three weeks in New Zealand. It’s a converted old dairy farm with two accommodations, though only one is rented at a time to give guests privacy. We chose the smaller one, which still had three bedrooms, a full bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room. We loved it. There’s also a small gym, free washer and dryer, hot tub, ebikes, and more. We booked the bed and breakfast option and Sean and Skip made us a fantastic homemade breakfast each morning. They were great hosts and lovely to talk with. We highly recommend the factory.

A beautiful place to relax and enjoy Kaikōura. The accommodation was stunning, clean, and very comfortable, in a private spot with easy access to the beach and town. The hosts were friendly and hospitable. We’re hoping to book again soon. Thanks again from Paul and Sarah.
