The Hamptons

The view from our room was stunning, and the garden was beautiful too. We had a clean room, our own entrance and exit, and parking on site, so there was plenty of privacy. Breakfast was amazing, and the hosts were even better. We only stayed one night and wished we'd booked at least two.

The room and ensuite were lovely, and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck for a while, just watching things go by. The location is stunning and close to everything. Patrick and his wife were wonderful hosts, and breakfast came with Patrick’s homemade bread and marmalade. Patrick also had plenty of helpful local information and ideas for things to do. If you're near Kaikōura, make a stop here.

We were stuck when a fire closed the road north of Kaikōura, with no alternate route available. Patrick and his wife were so kind and helpful, calling local enforcement to find out what was happening. The place itself was lovely, spacious, very clean, and had a perfect shower. There's private parking, and the town centre is only a short walk away. The view was unbeatable, and breakfast was very good. We'd happily book here again when we're back.

Patrick and Mary-Clare were welcoming and knew the area well. They pointed us to the Pier Hotel, a great place to eat with the kids, and the food was really good. I stayed for one night with my two children and was impressed by their hospitality and service. The room was cosy, the surroundings quiet, and the ocean views were great. It was a memorable stay, and I'd come back if I return to Kaikoura. I highly recommend the Hampton.
