Abel Tasman Kaiteriteri B & B

The room was clean, the owner was friendly and helpful, and the location, parking, WiFi and shower were all good. But the listing gave us the wrong idea about privacy and quiet. The bedroom had almost no storage or hanging space, and people passed right by the window, so we had to keep the curtains closed. The kitchen and dining area doubles as a hallway shared by as many as eight people. We were trying to eat breakfast while guests walked through in their underwear. Breakfast was poor, and we had to prepare it and clean up ourselves. It was noisy at night and in the morning. There was no air conditioning, and the pool was dirty with dead insects floating on it. The shared bin stayed full for two days. The listing said there was a washing machine, but there wasn't one. The owner did our laundry after we asked, which was kind of him. We felt the advert was misleading and should explain more clearly what guests actually get. Had we known, we wouldn't have booked. The price was very high for what we got. This felt much more like a hostel than a B&B.
