The grounds were incredible and the property was well kept, but the service let us down badly. Mimi could go days without replying, and she wasn’t there for any of the scheduled meetings. Planning a wedding was difficult when the people we dealt with couldn’t speak English. When we arrived on Friday, there were no check-in or check-out instructions, and the house was a mess. The contracts weren’t properly acknowledged either. Very unprofessional.

Dealing with Mimi was the worst experience. She yelled at me and hung up, and there were no contracts. We were charged for a night, then told we couldn’t use the bedrooms. She agreed to a refund, but now doesn’t want to pay it. There needs to be someone who speaks proper English and sticks to verbal agreements, especially when there are no contracts. Be careful booking: she doesn’t give you a breakdown of the charges, and the fees changed so many times that it caused a lot of inconvenience. On top of what we were charged for staying there, she charged us $3000. For one night and the function, the total was $6000 plus $900 NZD GST. We didn’t get to stay the night or use any of the upstairs, only the facilities on the bottom floor, which I think should come with paying to use the venue. I’ll never deal with this person again.

This was a lovely, quiet place for our business event. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and took care of everything. Their service was much better than what we received at a five-star hotel.

I especially enjoyed the horseback riding and BBQ dinner, and all the activities were so much fun. The staff were awesome and the views breathtaking. We’ve just come back from an amazing weekend at Tehihi Estate!
