The best part of our stay was the office staff and the men caretakers. The rest was really disappointing. We were there for four nights as a family, and the room wasn’t clean: there was food left on the bench and stovetop from the previous guests, and the bathroom was dirty, with black mould in the shower. The beds were very uncomfortable. For what you pay, I’d expect Wi-Fi to be included, but it costs extra. The grounds were untidy too, with rubbish all over the kids’ playground and cigarette butts everywhere. We won’t stay there again.

We were glad they could fit us in at the last minute. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful, and got back to us quickly when we had questions. It’s a great place for a night or however long, and I’d highly recommend it. It does get warm at night, so loose clothing is a good idea.

The cabin was clean and warm, with tea-making facilities, a fridge, and a toaster. It’s in a quiet valley just beside the town centre, and it’s very good value. I’d give it five stars if Wi-Fi were free. Having to pre-purchase it is too much hassle for me, so no thanks.

I understand the place may be closing or changing its business model, which is probably a good idea. I camped here for almost a week. The riverside setting with terraces is beautiful, and the kitchen and dining area are great, but everything else felt worn out and run down, with no real maintenance. The men's toilet and shower block was unhygienic and smelly. There were stray cats everywhere, and one night a cat fight outside our tent woke me at 4am. The website photos show the camp when it was well maintained, which must have been a long time ago.

We were given pillows at no extra cost after forgetting to bring our own, and the people were really lovely with great service. Our camping spot had a tree that gave us excellent shade. The bathrooms were clean too. We were so happy with the stay and would come back in a heartbeat.
