The Cottages on Lake Hayes

We spent our honeymoon at The Cottages at Lake Hayes, and the peaceful setting, views and warm hospitality made it feel magical from the start. We stayed in Luna Cottage, which was cozy, beautifully designed and full of thoughtful touches. Having an unlimited supply of pre-cut timber made evenings by the fireplace easy and relaxing. The private hot tub was a highlight, with panoramic views of snow-capped mountains. Soaking under the stars or watching morning mist drift through the valley was unforgettable. A beautiful walking trail starts right at the property and winds through the hills with even more great views. Restaurants are nearby, and Queenstown is a short drive away, though the cottage still feels like a quiet retreat. Rob, the manager, was incredibly accommodating. He let us check in early and helped extend our stay at the last minute when we’d mixed up our checkout date. His flexibility and generosity made us feel at home. Private, tranquil, luxurious and full of charm, this place is a real hidden gem. It was the perfect escape, and we’ll definitely return and recommend it to anyone visiting the Queenstown area.

We stayed in Luna Cottage for my wedding and had a wonderful time. The accommodation was lovely and clean, with all the essentials and homely touches. The setting by Lake Hayes is Devine, with a spa and lovely outlook. There was an unexpected power outage on my wedding day, but managers Janie and Rob kept us informed and coordinated everything brilliantly. They went above and beyond by inviting us into their home to get ready. Their fun, relaxed, beautiful and generous hospitality turned what could have been a disastrous start into something even more magical. It really showed how Jeanie and Rob will do everything they can to make your stay special when something doesn’t go to plan. Thank you. We hope to see you again for a wedding anniversary!

The countryside views at Lake Hayes Cottages were breathtaking, and the beautifully designed cottages had a luxurious but homely feel. I had a wonderful stay with my husband and friends. The peaceful, serene atmosphere made it a perfect getaway, and the lovely hosts added to the warm welcome. I highly recommend it!

The outlook and outdoor spa were lovely, and the cottage suited our travel group of two couples perfectly. It was warm, cozy and clean, with everything we needed, including heated floors we hadn’t even realised we needed. We had a lovely stay at the Hayes Cottage and look forward to staying there again.
