There were 12 of us, and we all had good things to say about the stay. We’d ridden up from Invercargill and arrived to a really relaxing atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, the showers were great, and reception were so helpful. I’d recommend the place and come back.

I’m really grateful to the owners and desk staff at Asure Avenue Motor Lodge. During a bike-packing trip, I got a puncture in Timaru after 8pm and had no spare tube, repair kit, or pump, all things I should’ve brought. They cheerfully drove me to Warehouse, lent me a pump, and checked whether a local campsite had space. They had a real Kiwi can-do attitude. If they’ll go to that trouble for a stranger late at night, I can imagine how well they look after paying guests.

After a long day of travel, the way we were spoken to left my family feeling really uncomfortable. We arrived late and found that the room we’d booked through booking.com, which was meant to have a spa bath, wasn’t what we received. When we raised it, the man seemed unhappy and said we’d booked for two, though our booking was for three. He fixed the mistake and gave us a lovely room, the best room, and we’re grateful for that. But he also told us not to make a mess at all, and the attitude was off. I’ve attached proof that we booked for three.

Clean and comfortable, with staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. This is my new go-to place in Timaru. 5 star.

Our trip took an unexpected turn when my girlfriend needed her appendix removed. We explained what had happened to Asure Avenue, and they were very helpful. They put us in a downstairs room with plenty of space, a comfortable bed, a large clean bathroom, and a small kitchen with everything needed. It was a lovely place to recover, and we had a very nice stay. Definitely recommend it if you’re visiting Timaru.
