We had a suite with a separate bedroom and lounge, and it was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The breakfast room was lovely too, with things from around the world on display and music playing in the background. Mike and Leigh were great hosts, and we'll definitely return if we come back to New Zealand. The pancakes and eggs at breakfast were amazing, the best breakfast we had in New Zealand. Thanks, Mike and Leigh, for a wonderful stay. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're looking for somewhere great to stay. Thank you both.

The hosts were fantastic and gave us great suggestions for things to see and do nearby. The lodge patio is gorgeous, and seeing the Milky Way at night was incredible. It was one of the highlights of our trip. Our room had everything we needed, with very comfortable beds and pillows. It looked straight out of a magazine, with beautiful panoramic lake views. The main dining area was gorgeous, tastefully decorated with things from around the world. Breakfast was served there with classical music in the background, a nice touch. The food was excellent, especially the eggs, which were some of the best I had. This was our best stay in New Zealand.

The hosts, Leigh and Mike, were delightful and a pleasure to talk to. The food was made with care, and everything in our room was clean and comfortable. The lake views from the room were spectacular. My wife and I wanted somewhere homely where we could relax and unwind, and this was just right. It was set up beautifully and felt like a home away from home. Everything was perfect, and I highly recommend it if you're looking for a place to slow down and relax.

For getting away from the madhouse of Rotorua, this is a good option. It's a quiet, out-of-the-way B&B with wide lake views, friendly hosts who looked after us well, and a good continental breakfast. The interior design is impeccable, and the lounge is comfortable. Our bedroom was a good size, the bathroom well designed, and the balcony is huge. If you arrive at night, set your GPS to the address or you'll feel like you're about to get lost. It may not suit little kids, but seems good for couples or families with teenagers.
