Lakeview Tekapo

The bathroom looked stylish, but some practical details let it down. Water escaped from the gaps at the base and door of the all-glass shower, soaking the bath mat so there was nowhere dry to step. The built-in shelf was too small for two people's toiletries, especially if you bring your own face wash. Apart from that, this was a solid 9/10. There's a lovely lake view, and it's a pleasant 22-minute walk to Lake Tekapo's main area. The full Google Home setup controls lights, music and more, and the handy kitchen has a microwave-oven and all the essentials. The furniture gives the place a sleek, modern look, and the two portable luggage racks were a surprisingly practical touch. The skylight above the bed is fantastic for stargazing, though the weather didn't cooperate for us.

Everything looked just like the booking photos, and the house and facilities were lovely, with easy parking. The living room and bedroom are separate, each with its own TV, and the kitchen has a complete set of cookware. It's very tech-friendly, with the lights and TVs connected to a Google pad. The host's link had all the information we needed. In the morning, the view from the balcony was amazing, and we could sunbathe there. At night, it was easy to see the stars, including through the window above the bed. It must be quite expensive to be so well equipped.

The bathroom features and skylight were standouts, and the unit had the latest technology with thoughtful little touches. Check-in was super easy. We stayed two nights in the self-contained 1 bedroom unit at Lakeview Tekapo and absolutely loved it. Fantastic location and incredible views.

Even with high winds and bad weather, the view from the Airbnb was breathtaking. It was lovely to stay cozy inside and look out at the scenery. The place was spotless and packed with modern amenities and technology. Steve went out of his way to carry our bags and make us feel at home as soon as we arrived, and the hosts were exceptional. We had an incredible stay and would definitely return. I can't recommend it enough.
