Mantra Lake Tekapo Apartment

The stairs were a bit of a challenge for my elderly parents, as stairs are generally becoming difficult for them. The property itself was beautiful, very comfortable, and spacious enough to feel like a house. We had everything we needed in the kitchen to make meals, and the heated bathroom floors felt luxurious. We also loved the hot tub. Take the short walk through the park beside the hotel down to the lake for spectacular views. We really enjoyed our stay.

There’s a park right behind the hotel, and a side gate makes it easy to walk through to the city centre. It’s around a 10-15 minute walk to Tekapo city centre or the church. The facilities are very complete, including a full set of kitchen and dining equipment. I’d definitely stay here again if I get the chance.

We had a small issue while we were there, but Hotel Manager P.M. was professional and very kind, which we really appreciated. The house was spacious and well equipped, with the handy bonus of a garage you can access directly. The area is beautiful and quiet.

We stayed three nights in unit 18 and loved it. It’s a spacious, nicely appointed two-storey unit, with enough pots, pans, and utensils, plus fast, strong WiFi. A short walk over the lovely little footbridge takes you into the little town of Lake Tekapo, where there are plenty of places to eat, a small 4 Square supermarket, and the Dark Sky Experience Building. The staff were friendly and welcoming in our brief interactions. There’s a central pool in the circular complex, but we weren’t brave enough to swim in November’s cool weather. 😂
