Tekapo Heights

We spent one peaceful night here. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the bed was especially good. There’s parking, and you can see the lake from the yard.

The room was really cheap, and the bed felt like sleeping on a high-quality hard wood floor. There was no staff on site, so nobody to help if other guests caused trouble. The place is far from town, too. It also felt creepy, like we were being watched. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were hidden cameras. There’s no breakfast served here, so I think the reviews that say they had breakfast are fake.

Fine for a quick overnight break during a long drive. The room was good, and there were plates, bowls, and cutlery. The bed wasn’t comfortable for us, though, since we’re used to a bed rest and this one didn’t have one. The town is tiny and most restaurants shut by 6, but you can pick up a takeaway meal at the supermarket.

The rooms were modern, clean, and tidy, in a lovely B&B-style house with a great lake and mountain view. The owner communicated clearly and simply, and made sure we were comfortable. Fantastic place to stay, and I’d highly recommend it. Some of the other reviewers don’t even seem to know where they are.
