The verandah and the view were a real highlight. It faces the sunrise, which you can watch from bed, and I could’ve sat there all day taking it in. The place is spacious and stayed warm just before winter with a good-looking gas fireplace, heated flooring in some areas, and another heater built into the wall. We arrived late, after office hours, but the welcome pack and detailed check-in instructions were conveniently left at a pickup spot.

We loved our time here and are already looking forward to coming back. The apartment is comfortable and cleverly laid out, and felt like great value. Every bedroom looks out to the views, so waking up to them each morning was surreal. The lake and mountains look stunning from the balcony, which is also a perfect spot for stargazing. Town is about a 7ish minute walk. A couple of things didn’t work well: the bathroom heating racks didn’t seem to work, and one night the shower water kept switching from hot to ice cold.

We rented both apartments for a special family birthday and loved the extra touches, along with the underfloor heating in the bedrooms and gas fire in the living area. The views were spectacular. We’ll definitely return and would highly recommend this beautiful accommodation.

We were lucky to get snow on our second night of a four-night stay, and it was lovely coming back to a warm, cosy house. The bedroom view was incredible, and waking up to what felt like the best view in New Zealand was a treat. The bedroom and bathrooms are tasteful and classy, with a fireplace in the lounge to keep things cosy in winter. The house sits up the hill from the little township, where we enjoyed the restaurants and cafes. A+ stay, highly recommend!

We spent our honeymoon here and loved the beautifully furnished, ultra-modern apartment. Mornings meant waking up to the lake, having coffee on the deck, then heading into town for brunch. The views were fantastic. We highly recommend The View Tekapo!
