Bentons Motel

Alan kindly arranged access to my room for a very late check-in in the middle of the night, after I'd arrived off the ferry exhausted from travelling. The bed was comfortable, the white sheets were incredibly fresh, and the room air felt fresh and clean too. It had air con, a great shower, microwave, toaster, tea and coffee, and everything else a tired traveller needs. It's cosy, with free parking right outside the unit. Very good value, just an hour from the Wellington ferry. I'll definitely stay again.

The owner was quick and efficient with my personal requests, and even gave me a lovely Christmas present when I was there over Christmas, chocolates in a stocking shape. That felt so thoughtful and rare. I enjoyed my four nights here, with restaurants and the supermarket only minutes away. The service and cleanliness were 💯. There are several nice tea and coffee options, including instant and plunger coffee, and the plates, cups, utensils and microwave were very clean and classy. The pillows, sheets, duvet, towels and coffee selection were all 10 out of 10. The only reason I gave the room four stars was that the bed cover, curtains and parts of the bathroom are dated. The air con is so quiet you can't hear it, and it can warm the room on cold nights or cool it during the day. I'll stay again when I visit friends nearby. A rare gem in Levin.

We've stayed here several times, and the owner is lovely and very accommodating. Last weekend he went above and beyond to make us happy. The units are always clean, and I love that dishes are sterilized between guests. I've never had to wash anything before using it. Thank you 😊😊😊

We booked just before closing, and the owner was welcoming and friendly. Even my first impression over the phone was good, he sounded genuine and polite, unlike the rude, abrupt people I'd called before. The rooms are standard and cheap, but the customer service is excellent.
