Mangonui Waterfront Apartments Motel

We keep coming back to Mangonui Apartments and highly recommend staying here. Daniel, the owner, is a top bloke to deal with, and the apartments have plenty of old charm. The self-contained facilities are great, and the views and area are top notch. We love it here. Murray & Antonia

We loved staying in "RUA", part of the old General Store, which gives the room some historical significance. It has a lovely rear deck for sitting out of the summer sun, and a full kitchen if you want to cook. There’s also a Thai restaurant nearby, or you can head downstairs to Jesses for their great lamb pizza. The recently refurbished room was beautifully done, with a new, very comfy bed, kitchen, and bathroom, plus a stunning view. It's pet friendly, though bringing a dog costs a $30 cleaning fee. Erika, our German host, was fantastic.

We found the Tahi room while booking from Canada for our last five days in New Zealand before flying home, and what a find it was. The apartment had lovely furnishings and stunning balcony views, making it a wonderful place to wind down our holiday. Our hosts were incredibly helpful. I really hope I can return one day.

Tahi was spacious and very well equipped, especially the kitchen, so we could make plenty of our own meals. It's right on the waterfront, with a superb harbour view, and we had no trouble with noise from the nearby restaurants. The character property is in a fantastic spot, close to shops and restaurants. Daniel and his team were friendly and made us feel welcome. We had a really relaxing break at Mangonui Apartments.
