The owners and staff are friendly and helpful, and the room is spotless, well maintained, and comfortable, with a good firm bed and a great shower. It's handy to town and, crucially, quiet. The TV has plenty on it, though we're not there to watch TV. We always stay here when we have something on in Masterton.

Basic, clean, and functional. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good, and the towels were nice. Milk was in the fridge, and the crockery and cutlery were good quality, though the bowls were pretty small. They'd supplied washing-up liquid, tea towels, and a draining board for the dishes. I'd forgotten the strange Kiwi tradition of having sinks with no overflow. The tiny Sky TV wasn't level on its wall mount. The bathroom fittings didn't seem thought through: the toilet roll was more or less behind you, and the shower door faced the bathroom door. The hook was out of reach by the toilet, so it was no use for a towel. Checkout was at 10:00, so I was alarmed when someone opened the door at 09:30 to service the room. They knocked, but didn't wait before opening it.

The rates are good, and the place is clean and tidy, though it’s clearly been around for a while.

It was quiet and clean, and the staff were friendly. Handy to nearby amenities.

A handy, fairly central spot for shops, and the room worked well for a quick business trip.
